HKSAR Government has committed to achieve carbon neutrality before 2050 and published the Climate Action Plan 2050 in October 2021. Since the electricity consumed by buildings generates over 60% of Hong Kong's carbon emissions, decarbonisation of buildings is one of the major strategies. The goal is to reduce the electricity consumption of commercial buildings by 30% to 40% and that of residential buildings by 20% to 30% from the 2015 level by 2050, and to achieve half of the above targets by 2035. Green Council invited industrial experts to share their experience and update the decarbonisation technology and innovation in buildings decarbonisation. |
