The “We Care, We Share Campaign” was launched in June this year. A total of 33,000 food coupons worth $1 million were distributed to needy families and individuals during the Reunification Anniversary, National Day holidays and before the Christmas and the New Year. Besides, 10,000 boxes of moon cakes worth $600,000 were presented on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The CGCC also made a donation of $100,000 to the SWD Emergency Relief Fund to provide instant financial assistance for families of victims in major incidents. During this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, the Chamber distributed moon cakes and fruits to residents of Kau Wa Keng Old Village, who were affected by a fire. As an on-going social welfare project, the “We Care, We Share Campaign” will roll out more initiatives and programs to encourage the business sectors’ care for society, with a view to promoting social harmony in Hong Kong.
